CEVNI stands for Code Européen des Voies de la Navigation Intérieure, which loosely means the Rules, or collision regulations, for the European Inland Waterways.
The CEVNI test certificate is required for endorsement of an ICC if you wish to take your boat on inland waters in Europe. The test can be taken online or in a classroom with an instructor present.

International Certificate of Competence, Powerboat level 2 or Day Skipper (sail or power)
- 30 questions on the lights, shapes and sound signals on the inland waterways of Europe

To be able to navigate the inland waterways of Europe
If you are planning to take you vessel on the sea then the RYA Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore theory course would be next. It is also necessary to have your VHF/SRC radio certificate.
