At the northern end of the South Island in Tasman Bay, you will find the city of Nelson which is the country’s biggest fishing port. With  a good range of marine facilities and the sun beating down on you while cruising along the golden sand beaches with the turquoise water on one side and lush native forests of the Abel Tasman national park on the other, you will not be disappointed with this cruising ground. The shores of Tasman Bay include the Mapua Estuary with its fine restaurants, Abel Tasman National Park with lush vegetation, the golden beaches of Golden Bay and the wilderness of D’Urville Island.
