The Master 200gt is designed as a bridging qualification between the RYA Yachtmaster and MCA Deck Officer Structure.
The Master 200gt will allow you to become the captain on vessels less than 200gt such as wind farm vessels and work boats.
The Master (Code Vessels less than 200gt) Officer of the watch (Yachts less than 500gt) training can be offered with a limited restriction i.e not more than 150 miles from safe haven and unlimited. On satisfying the pre-requisites the Master (Code Vessels less than 200gt) Officer of the watch (Yachts less than 500gt) consists of several different training modules which need to be completed before attending an oral examination

Previous Experience Required
For the unrestricted Master 200: Yachtmaster Ocean, Yachtmaster Ocean shore-based and MCA recognised Yachtmaster Ocean certificate of competency, STCW Basic training, GMDSS general operators certificate.

Abilities gained after the course
Subject to the successful completion of an MCA Oral examination the course Completion Certificate must be presented together with proof of 3 months’ sea service on vessels of 15m or more in length before the full certificate can be issued.
