Previous Experience Required
Students undergoing fire fighting training will be required to complete and sign a confidential medical declaration of any health problems, disabilities or injuries that the training centre may need to take into account whilst attending this physically demanding course. It is therefore essential that delegates feel healthy and are physically fit to undertake such training.

- Precautions to minimise the risk of fire on board vessels.
- Practical training on the use of fire fighting equipment
- The use of breathing apparatus for fire fighting and rescue
- casualty rescue in smoke filled enclosed spaces.
Abilities gained after the course
knowledge of the use of fire fighting equipment and the use of breathing apparatus for fire fighting and rescue.
The mandatory basic safety training courses also include: Personal Survival Techniques, Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities and Elementary First Aid.
