Fine tune basic skills to become a faster more fluid windsurfer.
The RYA Adult Intermediate Windsurfing course ( non-planing) will introduce you to new techniques such as beachstart and harness work and prepare you for the exhilaration of blasting control. You may be able to sail a larger course and use some slightly faster equipment by the end of this course. During this course your instructor will teach you the knowledge and practical skills to get you sailing around, practising tacking and gybing, and enabling you to make progression towards and away from the wind. Existing skills and knowledge will be developed to include tacking and gybing, knots, sailing conditions and sailing theory. Beachstarting and gybing are taught either as a separate clinic or within the course, depending on the individual’s needs and the teaching environment. The RYA Adult Intermediate Windsurfing course is a great way to improve your skills to a level that will enable you to windsurf on the sea. You will be using high-performance sails with lighter weight boards to progress your skills to the next level. Find a centre offering the RYA Adult Intermediate Windsurfing (non-planing) course here.
