With an introduction to footstrap technique becoming confident to tack and gybe and blast around in your harness.
The RYA Youth Windsurfing Stage 4 course increases youngsters confidence to tack and gybe and sail in the harness. It introduces basic footstrap techniques The emphasis is to improve on all techniques learnt in stages 1-3 practising carve gybes, tacking, waterstarts, planing and getting into footstraps with increase ease. Stage 4 will enhance their stance on all points of sailing and introduce basic harness techniques in stronger winds. Youngsters will be given plenty of opportunities to practise beachstarts, increase confidence with harness technique and improve tacking and gybing in stronger winds. The course is a blend of theory and practical consolidating skills and having the chance to blast around on the water! Previous Experience Required
Competent Stage 3 Sailor
- Get planing and into footstraps with ease

Abilities gained after the course
Be able to sail confidently on the sea in suitable conditions, sail around using the harness, confident tacking and gybing and demonstrate a basic ability to use the footstraps.
